Geico is a powerhouse of comedic advertising. They constantly create content that's fresh, funny & memorable. 'Donuts' was written to fall in line with their campaign of off-the-wall branding.
Donut & Coffee in hand.
30 something yr old bites his donut...a piece breaking off and falls into his coffee. At first, he's frustrated...
His eyes widen. Huge smile. Mind racing. He's got an idea.
Our guy has an audience. A co-worker listens to his pitch. Others watch in amusement.
"Coffee. Filled. Donuts. Genius, right?!"
Several co-workers stand in the office kitchen, ready to try the new donut. They all take a bite. HOT COFFEE pours out, burning their faces.
VOICEOVER: "This...is a dumb way to bundle."
Co-workers: "Aaaaahhh. Water. WATER!"
Our guy stands outside his house, holding an iPad with the dollar amount of how much he's saved with Geico. He's covered in burn spots.
VOICEOVER: "Try switching to Geico for home & auto"
We cut back to the boss, having just watched all this. He can't believe their stupidity.
VOICEOVER: "That’s a smarter way to bundle. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more."
